Fradley now has its own Parish Council due to a Governance Review by Lichfield District Council.
The main changes made to the Community Governance arrangements in respect of Fradley and Streethay Parish Council were as follows:
- Fradley and Streethay Parish Council to be dissolved as of 31 March 2023.
- Two new separate Parish Council to be set up as of 1 April 2023 known as Fradley Parish Council and Streethay Parish Council
Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 – The Lichfield District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2023, made on 11 January 2023.
Lichfield District Council in accordance with section 82 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, undertook a Community Governance Review. Under section 93 of the 2007 Act. They consulted with the local government electors and other interested persons with regards to the need to secure that community governance reflected the identities and interests of the community and were effective and convenient. Lichfield District Council in accordance with section 100 of the 2007 Act, had regard to guidance issues under that section. Lichfield District Council made the Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 86,98 and 240(10) of the 2007 Act.
